Rapa Nui

Isla de Pascua, Ile de Paques, Easter island...
Rapa Nui, Hanga-Roa, Rapa Nui
First day was a baptism..
A welcome shower, like a heart beating,
a constant elation, tears of joy,
a warm embracing so exciting rain that fills you with glee and wonder.
It is wonder full, our first day,
off the plane and into a dream.
In our beautiful cabin we booked for 5 days.
Cabanas Christophe is 5*.
No luxury hotel can compete,
nickel, clean as a whistle, impecable.
Our second day we left our ark to a tour of the town.
We climbed the volcano Rano Kau and visit there, the ancient village Orongo.
It's a halo of an island I'm telling you, all is heavenly
From our cabin, with a view of a mountain and the sea,
to the bananas ripe from the tree.
Hired a 4X4 to see the Moai of which there are many.
The ancestors protecting, hope the tourists are respecting their patrimony.
Handsome and pretty are the people here.
Galloping free are the hundreds of horses and cows
seemingly wild roaming, a gaucho reins them in a tinny wee.
They say it's a open air museum, but I didn't sleep walk through it.
We too hop, skipping and jumping,
cartwheel and somersaulting, the waves thrashing,
fresh and so clear pacific blue, here at Ahu Ko Te Riku.
Caves and grottoes, volcanoes.
You can loose your head here cause they are 887 to chose from.

A man's best friend all follow you down the road as you walk in Hanga Roa,
eyes say “Will you be my friend too”, I say “*****”
Rapa Nui. Sings Strawberry Fields Forever to get just how it feels.
Rano Raraku stunning view of 15 Moai.
Grand, Anakina Beach.
Climb to the highest mount, vivid magnificence!
1 day of rain 4 days perfect sunshine.
The sea all around as far as eye can see.
No ugly cruise ship no boats spoil the horizon.
The grass is everlasting green.
One gas station, one town, one community,
one beautiful family, one hired Jimny, one island,
one gem in the sea.
Come visit, it leaves an impression,
a tattoo stamped on your soul.
